The Elevation of Father Daniel Munn
The following letter from the Most Reverend John Elya was read in the parish hall of St. Ignatius Church after the celebration of the Divine Liturgy today (9/15/02):
Whereas Reverend Daniel M. Munn was one of the founders of St. Ignatius Parish in Augusta, Georgia, in 1982, and has served as Pastor since then, and
Whereas Fr. Munn has contributed faithfully and consistently to the Deacon Formation Program of the Diocese of Newton, and
Whereas Fr. Munn has assisted the Ordinary in maintaining and evaluating clergy psycho-emotional health, and
Whereas Fr. Munn has assisted the local Latin Catholics in numerous programs and apostolates, especially as Parochial Vicar of the Most Holy Trinity Church in Augusta, and
Whereas Fr. Munn has contributed greatly to the local expansion of information and knowledge of Eastern Catholicism among our Latin Catholic brothers and sister, and
Whereas Fr. Munn is presently serving as a member of the faculty of Aquinas High School in teaching the young our glorious faith, and
Whereas Fr. Munn is presently planning and implementing the expansion of the St. Ignatius Church,
we hereby confer on
THE REVEREND DANIEL M. MUNN
THE DIGNITY AND RANK OF ARCHPRIEST
with the privilege of wearing the silver pectoral cross. This decree is effective as of September 15, 2002. Given at our residence in Roslindale, Massachusetts, September 11, 2002.
