Fater Deacon Kent Plowman with Bishop John Elya

Fr. Deacon Kent M. Plowman was ordained to the Melkite diaconate in 1994.  He has biritual faculties through the Military Archdiocese.  He was born in 1941, married in 1963 to the former Diana Davis, and has four children ranging in age from 28 to 36 with seven grandchildren.  He received a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from the University of Miami in 1965 and an M.D. degree from the Medical College of Virginia in 1975.  He was an Associate Professor of Biochemistry for six years (196672), took his residency in Internal Medicine at the Medical of College of Georgia from 1975 to 1978, and spent two years at the School of Aerospace Medicine with the U. S. Air Force.  From 1980 until the present he has been Chief, Clinical Investigation at Eisenhower Army Medical Center with the current rank of Colonel.  He has authored one book on Enzyme Kinetics, numerous chapters and publications on medical research topics and on religion.  He contributed to the Light for Life chatechism series for the Eastern Catholic Churches.
